Scannell Properties leases 13,300 square metre warehouse near Barcelona to Transaher

Scannell Properties has let its Logistic Park Montornès to the Spanish logistics operator Transaher.

Strategically located in Montornès del Vallès, the site forms part of the Mediterranean Corridor, an important industrial area in the Catalonia region.  Logistic Park Montornès is just 25 km from Barcelona city centre, 30km from the port and 43 km from the airport.  It also provides direct access to the AP7 motorway linking Barcelona with France.

The new site will allow Transaher to reinforce its operations in Catalonia with a cutting-edge, sustainable platform in an excellent location.  The warehouse will provide 13,300 square metres of space, including 20 loading bays and 600 square metres of offices, which will supplement the company’s existing 8,000 square metre warehouse in nearby Granollers. For Scannell this is the third completed project in in the Catalonia market in the last three years.

In line with Scannell’s commitment to sustainable development, the 22,000 square metre brownfield site, which previously housed a disused discotheque, has been developed using sustainable building techniques.  The building has been designed to meet the adapting needs of today's logistics operators and has a BREEAM Excellent certification for its energy-saving credentials which include photovoltaic panels, LED lighting and electric vehicle charging points.
